Oh, Canada!

May 30, 2014 - We flew up to Toronto last weekend to introduce E to her Uroma and Uropa.  S flew up with E and me on Friday morning with N joining us on Friday evening.  We had a great weekend packed with loads of family time, eating, catching up with old friends and shopping.  E was an awesome traveler and slept through both flights and most of our time in the airport as well (a HUGE thank you goes out to S for flying with me - I couldn't have done it without you).  E loved snuggling with Uroma, Uropa, Great Uncle Rob, K/K, and even with friends who came to one of the two parties of the weekend!  We loved visiting Nina Street and showing E where I spent the first 16 years of my life!

Happy Memorial Day!

May 26, 2014 - Happy Memorial Day!  We're having a relaxing visit with Uroma and Uropa in Toronto.  We think E is the cutest!

Earth Loves Wind

May 23, 2014 - Last week, Evelyn and I trekked through the rain into the loop to visit the Invenergy office and meet the group.  E was a doll and pretty much slept through both legs of the journey and a boisterous lunch.  She refused to open her eyes for the group but successfully demonstrated that she can spit out her pacifier & fuss until I pop it back in her mouth (not her most impressive trick). Everyone agreed that although she is tiny, she's looking like a full term baby with meat on her bones.  She is a little environmentalist in the making!

Lincoln Park Conservatory

May 20, 2014 - We are really doing our best to make the most of the warm weather and Evelyn's portability (I've been told to relish the time when we can tote her everywhere without objection or concern for set nap times).  So today Oma, Evelyn and I strolled up to the Lincoln Park Conservatory.  We live right near a gorgeous neighborhood full of turn-of-the-century townhomes (more like townmansions), so heading north towards the zoo and Conservatory always proves a lovely walk.  Our little friend was fed and clean and didn't appear to know we even left our apartment building.  We had a great time checking out the Conservatory - Oma quizzed me on the names of plants, and I failed miserably.  The Conservatory was so hot that we had E in various stages of undress - turns out that babies do sweat.  Evelyn woke up on our way home and just babbled and looked around the entire time, a perfectly contented baby.  Of course when we got home she went ballistic because we couldn't feed her fast enough, but at least our fellow Chicagoans didn't have to witness her meltdown.
